Braselton, Ga. (July 21, 2014)- Skip Barber Racing School is excited to announce the upcoming schedule for the 2014-2015 Winter Series presented by Mazda. With new tracks, strong competitors and several enticing prizes at stake, it will be a thrilling winter season!

The Skip Barber Winter Series is known for racing at the best tracks in North America and the the 2014-2015 season will hold up to that tradition. The Formula Skip Barber class of the series will consist of 6 race weekends around the country. For the growing MX-5 series, the Winter Series will consist of 3 race weekends and the cars will be prepped in Pro Challenge trim, meaning faster cars and better handling.

If you want to get back in the seat of a race car, this is the season to do it!

2014-2015 Winter Series Formula Skip Barber

  • 6 Race Weekends (each race will have its own qualifying session)
  • 6 Race Weekends (2 races per group)
  • Top 5 earn a spot in the 2015 Skip Barber Championship Shootout
  • Total of $162,500 in available awards
  • Drop lowest race result
  • Able to transfer 1 double for points (Formula only)

 

2014-2015 Winter Series MAZDASPEED Challenge

  • 3 Race Weekends (each race will have its own qualifying session)
  • 3 Race Weekends (2 races per group)
  • Total of up to $50000 in available awards
  • Drop lowest race result

Rounds 1 & 2 at Road Atlanta – November 13-16, 2014 – Formula/MX-5
Rounds 3 & 4 at Sebring – December 18-21, 2014 – Formula/MX-5
Rounds 5 & 6 at Homestead-Miami Speedway Road Course – January 14-18, 2015 – Formula only
Rounds 7 & 8 at Track to Be Determined– February 2015
Rounds 9 & 10 at Track to Be Determined – March 2015
Rounds 11 & 12 at Sebring International Raceway – April 7-11, 2015 – Formula/MX-5

  •  First place: $12,500 and entry into Race Series Championship Shootout
  • Second place: $7,500 and entry into Race Series Championship Shooutout
  • Third place: $5,000 and entry into Race Series Championship Shootout

  • Fifth place: Entry into Race Series Championship Shootout
  • Most improved: 3,000 Skippy Bucks
  • Rookie of the year: 3,000 Skippy Bucks
