Skip Barber Track Experience at Lime Rock Park a success

< Back 05/06/2010

Thursday, May 06, 2010 More than 500 braved dire weather predictions to come out for Skip Barber Racing School’s 2nd Annual Opening Day at Lime Rock Park. Those hearty souls (the weather ended up being fine, with just some drizzle late in the day) enjoyed a day of activities, including hot laps on-track in Mazda MX-5 Cup race cars and on the autocross in cars from our High Performance Driving School fleet. Guests also drove MAZDA3’s on the second autocross and RX-8’s on the skid pad.

Dates for Skip Barber Track Experience events at Road Atlanta, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Sebring International Raceway will be announced shortly. In the mean time, here are some images from last week’s event.

“Thanks for coming out today. May I have your name?” Registration for Opening Day was smoothly managed by Ashley Launey, Linda Snyder and a contingent from the World Headquarters.

Here come the troops!

Technicians get the MX-5 Cup race cars ready for the first guests of the day.

Richard Fernandes and the gang from Ops had the display cars looking top notch.

The High Performance Driving School cars were doing what they do best on the autocross…

while the RX-8’s got a workout on the skid pad.

A good time was had by all… or at the very least this guy
