De Phillippi on pole for Round 11

Braselton, Ga. (Sept. 24) – Point leader Connor De Phillippi secured his fourth pole of the season for Round 11 of the 2009 BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by this morning at Road Atlanta. De Phillippi laid down a lap of 1:34.253 (97.015 MPH) to edge Robert La Rocca by .096 sec. for the number one starting position and the bonus point for pole. Sean Rayhall, from nearby Austell, Ga., put this week’s heavy rains and flooding in his hometown out of his mind to pick up third on the grid. He will start next to Ashley Freiberg, whose 1.34.526 slotted her into fourth. Sage Karam rounds out the top five in a very tight field; the top 11 drivers covered by less than a second. Second in points and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Court Vernon clocked a 1:34.670 to miss the top five by just over two-tenths of a second.

The green flag drops on Round 11 of the 2009 BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda at 6:05 this afternoon. Check skipbarber.com for results and updates this evening.
