Lyons Sets New Record in Qualifying at Lime Rock Park

< Back 05/28/2010

Friday, May 28, 2010 Lime Rock Park marks the half way point for the BF Goodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda, and Isaac Lyons is currently sitting on the pole for Round 7, which takes place tomorrow morning at 9:00am EST.

Dennis Trebing caught some good drafts and was the early pace setter of the session, and Nick Andries was the next driver to grab the pole. Lyons not only clinched the pole today, but he also set a track record with a 57.006. Behind him will be Andries and Trebing will be right behind him ready to battle for the lead tomorrow morning.

Spencer Pigot drove strong all weekend during the lapping sessions and practices, but unfortunately was caught up in traffic near the end of the qualifying session and had differential closing speeds between himself, Mukul Sud and Abdul Ahmed. Ultimately, a black flag was thrown and three were penalized for causing a black flag during a qualifying session. Pigot’s times were fast and consistent enough that he didn’t lose any positions, and will still be starting at P6.
